So the end of my eighth grade year arrived. I had to choose what high school I would go Foothill or Ventura? My dad wanted me to go to Foothill because my older sister is in Foothill. I wanted to go to Ventura with all my friends that were going there. But my dad wanted me to attend Foothill. I told him on how none of my friends were going there but still he insisted for me to go to Foothill.
My decision was to come to Foothill beside from not wanting to disappoint my father. My father and I had some to talk with each other about what high school I will be going to. . I remember him telling me to at least try out foothill to see if I like it. So I agreed with him to try. Although I wanted to go to Ventura my sister who also is in Foothill convinced me to go to Foothill. What also affected my decision to come here was that a few of my friends were too coming to Foothill. What convinced me the most to come is my sister and friends. Sister because she told me what it is like in Foothill and how nice every one also the small campus would be better for me help me get to know people more and that I will meet better friends here than in Ventura. Also when I found out some of my good friends were going here too one of the reason I came to this school, because I did not want to be alone during lunch with no friends. So I chose to come to Foothill.
At orientation it was fun being able to see some of my old friends some who I knew were coming and other I didn’t know they were going to Foothill. We did a couple of things before setting off to see our fire mentors who are awesome. Once we did go off we did some fun activities like this straw game to help us remember each other’s name. Another game where we toss the ball and remember our number and the person before us number. After the activities we soon went off to try to find our classes. I found all of my classes with no problem beside biology I got confused on where to go to get there. All of my teachers were nice and every one was nice. I felt like I was going to like this school.
Foothill High School now I really like the school. It is a little too small but I still like it. I have met some new friends who are nice and fun to be around. I now like this school and I don’t want to go to Ventura any more. But still wonder what it would be like there. I like how we have block schedule here and how we come out early on Monday. The small campus makes me feel safer than in a bigger one with more people I don’t know.
In conclusion I know I made the right choice coming to Foothill High School. I know now this choice was not a mistake.
